"What could this word be it sort of sounded like..."
How often have you asked yourself, or a colleague, that question? It is my fervent hope that henceforth you'll be able to find a lot of answers in this book. most of the more common soundalikes (affect/effect, cite/sight/sites, and such) appeared in the two earlier editions, the first one that had 2,000 in its title, the more recent on with 3,000. But in addition to some common ones I'd managed to everlook, this book contains a great number of some what more sophisticated soundalikes, look-alikes, and other problem words. It's obviousy impossible to cover all technical vocabularies in our ever-expanding language, but you'll find a lot of medical and other technical material here.
