StenoCare is StenoWorks’ annual service and repair protection program for eligible steno writers. It is designed to help reduce repair costs, minimize downtime, and keep you writing with confidence.

Our technicians work on both current and legacy steno equipment, and StenoWorks maintains one of the most extensive parts inventories in the industry. That means support for many writers that may no longer be serviced elsewhere.

What StenoCare Does Not Cover
- Accidental damage, drops, spills, or liquid damage
- Theft, loss, or disappearance
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect operation
- Preexisting problems
- Routine maintenance or full reconditioning
- Consumables and items excluded by the final program agreement
Need Accidental Damage Coverage?
StenoCare is focused on service and repair protection for covered mechanical and electronic failures. Accidental damage is not included.
For eligible purchases, optional XCover protection may be available separately through StenoWorks.

How StenoCare Works
1. Select Your Plan
Choose the writer model and coverage type that matches your equipment.
2. Eligibility Review
We verify your writer model, serial number, and current or prior coverage status.
3. Coverage Begins
New or lapsed plans may be subject to a waiting period or inspection requirements.
4. Request Service
If a covered problem occurs, contact StenoWorks for service instructions.
Optional Loaner Coverage
For added peace of mind, eligible StenoCare plans may include optional loaner coverage. If your writer requires a qualifying covered repair, StenoWorks may provide a temporary replacement writer, subject to availability and loaner program terms.
Loaner coverage is an annual add-on:
- $120 for Luminex II / NexGen, Luminex I, Diamante, and Luminex CSE
- $100 for Wave, Elan Mira, and Stentura / Fusion
Loaner availability, shipping responsibilities, and return deadlines are governed by the final StenoCare and loaner terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is accidental damage covered?
No. StenoCare does not cover drops, spills, impact damage, theft, loss, or other accidental damage events.
Do new plans start immediately?
New or lapsed plans may be subject to a waiting period and/or an eligibility review. Preexisting problems are not covered.
Does StenoCare include routine maintenance?
No. Routine maintenance and full reconditioning are separate services.
