Keep your trusted Stenograph Elan Mira working reliably with StenoCare from StenoWorks. Originally introduced in 2016, StenoCare provides annual repair protection for eligible stenotype writers, helping reduce unexpected repair expenses and equipment downtime.

Whether you own an original Elan Mira G1, Elan Mira G2, or Elan Mira A3, StenoWorks has extensive experience servicing these professional stenotype machines. Our technicians, replacement parts inventory, and specialized repair capabilities help extend the useful life of legacy court reporting equipment.

Eligible Elan Mira Models

  • Elan Mira G1 (Original): First-generation Elan Mira professional writer.
  • Elan Mira G2: Second-generation model featuring the adjustable flip-up display.
  • Elan Mira A3: Later-generation model featuring updated recording and communication capabilities.

Please select your specific Elan Mira model from the product options. Coverage is subject to model verification, equipment condition, and parts availability.

Choose Your Annual Coverage

Renewal Coverage — $229
For eligible Elan Mira writers currently covered under a qualifying StenoWorks warranty, active StenoCare plan, or approved manufacturer service agreement.

First-Time or Lapsed Coverage — $299
For eligible Elan Mira writers without continuous qualifying warranty or service-plan coverage.

Renewal eligibility is subject to verification. First-time and lapsed plans generally have a 60-day waiting period unless an approved inspection and correction of existing defects permits earlier coverage under the written agreement. Preexisting problems are excluded.

What's Included with StenoCare?

  • Mechanical & Electronic Repair Protection: Parts and labor for eligible mechanical and electronic failures occurring under normal operating conditions.
  • Professional StenoWorks Service: Repairs performed by technicians experienced with Elan Mira and legacy stenographic equipment.
  • Technical Support: Telephone and email assistance during regular StenoWorks business hours.
  • Return Shipping: Standard domestic ground shipping following an approved covered repair.
  • Internal Battery Service: Replacement when necessary as part of a qualifying covered failure, subject to parts availability and program terms.
  • Writer Software: Compatible software or firmware updates when available, appropriate, and authorized.

Optional Loaner Writer Coverage

Add $120 per year.

A malfunctioning writer can interrupt your reporting schedule. StenoCare's optional loaner benefit can help keep you working while your Elan Mira undergoes a qualifying covered repair.

With loaner coverage, StenoWorks may provide a compatible temporary stenotype writer, subject to approval, availability, and the written loaner agreement.

Whenever possible, we will attempt to provide a similar model with an appropriate keytop configuration. An identical Elan Mira model is not guaranteed.

Loaner coverage must be selected at enrollment or renewal. Shipping arrangements, return deadlines, and customer responsibilities are explained in the StenoCare FAQs and Loaner Policy.

Optional Routine Maintenance

Routine Maintenance — $179

Regular Price: $199 | Save $20

Recommended for Elan Mira writers that are operating properly and have been fully reconditioned within approximately the past two to three years.

  • Exterior and interior cleaning
  • Inspection of working mechanical components
  • Appropriate lubrication and adjustments
  • General operation and performance checks
  • Minor cosmetic cleaning and refresh

Routine maintenance does not include complete degreasing, replacement of all key pads, or extensive mechanical restoration.

Full Reconditioning (Overhaul)

For Elan Mira writers that need more extensive mechanical restoration, StenoWorks also offers professional full reconditioning services.

  • Thorough exterior and interior cleaning
  • Removal of accumulated dirt, debris, and old grease
  • Complete degreasing and fresh lubrication as applicable
  • Replacement of applicable key pads and padding
  • Inspection and adjustment of mechanical components
  • Operational testing and general cosmetic refresh

Routine maintenance and full reconditioning are separate optional services, not included with basic annual StenoCare coverage. Purchased services must be scheduled with StenoWorks during the applicable service period.

Important Coverage Information

StenoCare is designed to cover eligible mechanical and electronic failures under normal use. It is not an accidental damage protection plan.

StenoCare Does Not Cover:
  • Accidental drops, impacts, or liquid damage
  • Theft, loss, or disappearance
  • Misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • Preexisting mechanical or electronic problems
  • Cosmetic-only damage or ordinary wear not causing a covered failure
  • Unauthorized modifications or resulting damage
  • Routine maintenance or full reconditioning unless separately purchased
  • Other exclusions in the written StenoCare agreement

Optional XCover protection may be available separately for qualifying equipment purchases. XCover and StenoCare are independent programs with different terms and eligibility requirements.

How to Enroll

  1. Select your Elan Mira model: G1, G2, or A3.
  2. Choose First-Time/Lapsed or Renewal coverage.
  3. Choose optional loaner coverage, if desired.
  4. Select optional routine maintenance or no additional service.
  5. Enter your writer's serial number and relevant warranty information.
  6. Complete your order. StenoWorks will review eligibility and confirm coverage dates.

Renewal customers may be asked to provide proof of current qualifying coverage. Machines with known problems may require inspection and repair before enrollment can be approved.
