One Year of Professional Writer Service & Repair Protection
Protect your Stenograph NexGen with StenoCare from StenoWorks. Originally introduced in 2016, StenoCare provides annual repair protection for eligible stenotype writers, helping reduce unexpected repair expenses and equipment downtime.
Your NexGen is a significant investment in your court reporting career. StenoWorks provides professional service and repair expertise supported by experienced technicians, an extensive replacement parts inventory, and specialized mechanical and component-level electronic repair capabilities.
Choose Your Annual Coverage
Renewal Coverage — $329
For eligible NexGen writers currently covered under a qualifying StenoWorks warranty, active StenoCare plan, or approved manufacturer service agreement.
First-Time or Lapsed Coverage — $399
For eligible NexGen writers without continuous qualifying warranty or service-plan coverage.
Renewal eligibility is subject to verification. First-time and lapsed plans generally have a 60-day waiting period unless an approved inspection and correction of existing defects permits earlier coverage under the written agreement. Preexisting problems are excluded.
What's Included with StenoCare?
- Mechanical & Electronic Repair Protection: Parts and labor for eligible mechanical and electronic failures occurring during normal operation.
- Professional StenoWorks Service: Repairs performed by technicians experienced with professional Stenograph writers.
- Technical Support: Telephone and email assistance during normal StenoWorks business hours.
- Return Shipping: Standard domestic ground shipping following an approved covered repair.
- Internal Battery Service: Replacement when required as part of an eligible covered failure, subject to plan terms and parts availability.
- Writer Software: Compatible manufacturer-authorized software or firmware updates when available and appropriate.
Optional Loaner Writer Coverage
Add $120 per year.
When your NexGen requires a qualifying covered repair, our optional loaner benefit can help minimize interruptions to your reporting schedule.
StenoWorks may provide a compatible temporary stenotype writer during an eligible repair, subject to approval, availability, and the written StenoCare loaner agreement.
Whenever possible, we will attempt to provide the same or a comparable model with an appropriate keytop configuration. An identical NexGen is not guaranteed.
Loaner coverage must be selected when purchasing or renewing the plan. Shipping arrangements, return deadlines, and customer responsibilities are explained in our StenoCare FAQs and Loaner Policy.
Optional Maintenance & Reconditioning
StenoCare customers can add professional routine maintenance or full reconditioning at special discounted prices. These optional services are purchased separately from annual repair protection.
Routine Maintenance — $179
Regular Price: $199 | Save $20
Recommended for NexGen writers that are operating properly and have undergone full reconditioning within approximately the last two to three years.
- Exterior and interior cleaning
- Inspection of working mechanical components
- Lubrication and minor adjustments as needed
- General operation and performance checks
- Minor cosmetic cleaning and refresh
Routine maintenance does not include complete removal of old grease, replacement of internal key pads, full disassembly, or complete recalibration.
Full Reconditioning (Overhaul) — $269
Regular Price: $299 | Save $30
For NexGen writers requiring more comprehensive mechanical restoration, full reconditioning goes beyond routine maintenance to help restore the writer's appearance, operation, and writing feel.
- Thorough exterior and interior cleaning
- Removal of accumulated dirt, debris, and old grease
- Complete degreasing and fresh lubrication as applicable
- Replacement of applicable internal pads and padding
- Inspection and adjustment of mechanical components
- Recalibration and operational testing as applicable
- General cosmetic refresh
- Compatible writer software updates when available and supported
Full reconditioning includes applicable routine maintenance work. Batteries, unrelated electronic repairs, additional replacement parts, and other work outside the overhaul scope may require separate authorization and charges.
Please select only one optional service. Purchased routine maintenance or full reconditioning may be scheduled once during the annual plan term by arrangement with StenoWorks. Shipping and service scheduling terms apply.
Important Coverage Information
StenoCare is intended to cover eligible mechanical and electronic failures under normal use. It is not an accidental damage protection plan.
- Accidental drops, impacts, or liquid damage
- Theft, loss, or disappearance
- Misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Preexisting mechanical or electronic problems
- Cosmetic-only damage or ordinary wear not causing a covered failure
- Unauthorized modifications or resulting damage
- Routine maintenance or full reconditioning unless separately purchased
- Other exclusions specified in the written StenoCare agreement
Optional accidental damage protection may be available separately through XCover for eligible equipment purchases. XCover and StenoCare are separate programs with different eligibility requirements and coverage terms.
How to Enroll
- Select First-Time/Lapsed or Renewal coverage.
- Choose whether to add optional loaner coverage.
- Select routine maintenance, full reconditioning, or no additional service.
- Enter your NexGen serial number and relevant warranty information.
- Complete your order. StenoWorks will review eligibility and confirm applicable coverage dates.
Customers requesting renewal pricing may be asked to provide proof of qualifying coverage. Writers with known defects may require inspection and repair before enrollment can be approved.
