One Year of Writer Service & Repair Protection
Keep your Stenograph Wave working reliably throughout your court reporting education with StenoCare from StenoWorks. This annual protection plan helps reduce unexpected repair expenses from eligible mechanical and electronic failures, so you can concentrate on building your writing skills.
The Wave has been a popular choice for stenography students and developing reporters. StenoWorks continues to provide experienced technical service, specialized repair supplies, and replacement parts to support these writers.
Choose Your Annual Coverage
Renewal Coverage — $229
For eligible Wave writers currently covered under a qualifying StenoWorks warranty, active StenoCare plan, or approved manufacturer service agreement.
First-Time or Lapsed Coverage — $299
For eligible Wave writers without continuous qualifying warranty or protection-plan coverage.
Renewal eligibility is subject to verification. First-time and lapsed plans generally have a 60-day waiting period unless an approved inspection and correction of existing defects permits earlier coverage under the written agreement. Preexisting failures are excluded.
What's Included with StenoCare?
- Mechanical & Electronic Repair Protection: Parts and labor for eligible mechanical and electronic failures occurring under normal operating conditions.
- Professional StenoWorks Service: Repairs performed by experienced technicians familiar with the Stenograph Wave.
- Technical Support: Telephone and email assistance during regular StenoWorks business hours.
- Return Shipping: Standard domestic ground shipping after an approved covered repair.
- Internal Battery Service: Replacement when required as part of a qualifying covered failure, subject to parts availability and plan terms.
- Writer Software: Compatible and authorized software or firmware updates when available and appropriate.
Optional Loaner Writer Coverage
Add $120 per year.
An unexpected writer failure can interrupt your school assignments, speed-building practice, or reporting schedule. StenoCare's optional loaner benefit helps reduce downtime during a qualifying covered repair.
When approved, StenoWorks may provide a compatible temporary stenotype writer while your Wave is being serviced. Loaner availability and model selection are subject to the written loaner agreement. An identical Wave is not guaranteed.
We will attempt to provide a suitable keyboard configuration whenever possible. Shipping arrangements, return deadlines, and customer responsibilities are explained in our StenoCare FAQs and Loaner Policy.
Optional Routine Maintenance
Routine Maintenance — $179
Regular Price: $199 | Save $20
Routine maintenance is recommended for Wave writers operating properly that have been fully reconditioned within approximately the past two to three years.
- Exterior and interior maintenance cleaning
- Inspection of mechanical components
- Appropriate lubrication and minor adjustments
- General writer operation and performance testing
- Minor cosmetic cleaning and refresh
Routine maintenance does not include complete removal of old grease, replacement of internal felt pads, or full mechanical reconditioning.
Full Reconditioning (Overhaul)
If your Wave requires more extensive service, StenoWorks also offers professional full reconditioning.
Unlike routine maintenance, a full overhaul includes thorough cleaning, removal of accumulated debris and old grease, replacement of applicable internal felt pads, correct lubrication, mechanical adjustments, and operational testing.
Our technicians use appropriate service materials and lubricants to help restore smooth, responsive writing performance.

Routine maintenance and full reconditioning are optional services purchased separately. They are not included in the basic annual StenoCare protection plan. Scheduling and applicable shipping charges are separate unless expressly included.
Important Coverage Information
StenoCare covers eligible mechanical and electronic failures under normal use. It is not an accidental damage protection plan.
- Accidental drops, impacts, or liquid damage
- Theft, loss, or disappearance
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications
- Preexisting mechanical or electronic problems
- Cosmetic-only damage or ordinary wear that does not cause a covered failure
- Routine maintenance or overhaul unless separately purchased
- Other exclusions in the written StenoCare agreement
Separate accidental damage protection may be available through XCover for qualifying equipment purchases. XCover and StenoCare are independent programs with different terms.
How to Enroll
- Select Renewal or First-Time/Lapsed coverage.
- Choose optional loaner coverage, if desired.
- Select optional routine maintenance or no additional service.
- Provide your Wave writer serial number and relevant warranty information.
- Complete your order for StenoWorks eligibility review and confirmation of applicable coverage dates.
Renewal customers may be asked to provide proof of qualifying current coverage. Known mechanical or electronic problems may require inspection and repair before enrollment can be approved.
